- There is truly nothing better than curling up on the couch with a fuzzy blanket, a cup of hot cocoa, and one of Jenny Hale’s Christmas novels. Even here in Tennessee where it hasn’t begun snowing yet!
It Started with Christmas easily transports you to that cozy cabin in the woods outside of Nashville where a woman and her nana are snowed in with an unexpected guest.
This is a lovely, heartwarming tale of a girl in search of her true calling and her true love while endearingly taking care of her grandmother who herself is missing the love of her life.
The gorgeous imagery and depiction of Nashville and its surrounding country is spot on. While I’m fairly new to the Nashville area myself, I know the landscapes and life are perfectly represented in this story, making you want to search for a comfy cabin in the country to spend your holiday, tour the lavish estates of Brentwood, and ring in the New Year in downtown Nashville!
An inspiring romance that brings the enchanting magic of the holidays to life! - During the holidays, I love to read a good Christmas romance. I’ve found that some are too short, too cheesy, or poorly written. So, I was so glad that this book was just right!
I loved the characters and the emphasis on the importance of family and community. I appreciated the fact that the characters had morals and integrity. I loved that true friendship was so important to all the characters.
Was the plot predictable? - yes. Did it matter? - no. I just enjoyed and appreciated this “feel good†story - keeping the perfect mood during the holidays! - I really enjoyed this book. It had a lot of love in it which is so often lacking in our world today. The characters were great and I fell in love with Papa and Nana. Papa had died three years earlier but Jenny brought him to life for her readers - what magic! Joe's character was great - such a gentleman. I felt all through the book that he was the right person for Holly. I would recommend this book to all. Good clean entertainment. I will certainly read more by Jenny Hale.

I was grinning through tears for most of the last quarter of the book. I can't recommend this book highly enough!

- It was nice to see character development, however love at first sight wasn't believable. I wish that more was written on the main couple love story. Both hero and heroines were sweet, however, the author tells more than describes their falling attraction.
